🩺 Neuro-orthopaedics
Martin Švehlík, PhD, Priv. Doz. Dr. Bc.
Consultant in neuro-orthopaedics
“Moving without pain is a basic human need – and I want to be a reliable partner to you on that path.”
About me
For a child, freedom of movement is the most natural thing in the world — and when it is restricted, I support families in regaining it. I have devoted myself to paediatric orthopaedics for more than two decades, and my dual qualification as a physician and physiotherapist gives me a particular perspective: I am interested not only in how the musculoskeletal system is built, but above all in how a child actually moves. A special focus of my work lies on neuro-orthopaedic questions, particularly in cerebral palsy, and on gait analysis. Beyond that I care for children and adolescents at every stage of their growth — from congenital deformities in infancy to postural problems, scoliosis and sports injuries in adolescence. Research and clinical practice go hand in hand for me: as President Emeritus of ESMAC and a member of VKO and EPOS I am internationally connected, and I work at the University Clinic of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Medical University of Graz.Training & qualifications
