Frequently asked questions

What you want to know about how therapy works

Do I definitely need a doctor’s prescription?▾
No — you can begin therapy without one. If you want reimbursement from health insurance, however, a prescription is usually necessary. Some insurers also require prior approval. We go through this with you at the initial consultation.
How long does a first appointment take?▾
Allow about 90 minutes for your first appointment. The first 30 minutes are for the assessment; after that you begin your first therapy session straight away.
How often a week should I come for therapy?▾
We recommend at least two sessions a week for lasting progress. In intensive therapy, three to five hours a day over one to three weeks are possible. We draw up the actual plan together after your first appointment.
How much does health insurance reimburse?▾
The amount reimbursed for physiotherapy varies with the insurer and the tariff. Many insurers reimburse part of the cost of non-contracted therapy centres in Austria. At the initial consultation we explain what applies in your situation.
