Functional training — use arm, hand and shoulder again

Gripping, lifting, feeling — we train the motor and sensory abilities of your upper limbs with the latest technology.

What is functional arm and hand training and how does it improve movement?
What is functional training?

Movement and sensation — trained together

Functional training in neurological conditions brings together two dimensions: motor training for strength and mobility, and sensory training for perception and coordination. A hand that cannot feel cannot grip safely — which is why we always treat both together.

With grasping exercises, mobilisation, strengthening of the hand, arm and shoulder muscles and focused mirror therapy we train the neurological connection between brain and arm — high-dose and precise. Motor rehabilitation of the upper limb at the current state of the science.

“The hand is our window to the world. We work to open that window again.”
What you gain

What changes for you

The upper limb is essential to most everyday activities — every improvement has a direct effect on your independence.

🤝

You grip more confidently again

Holding cups, turning door handles, shaking hands — grasping exercises improve strength and precision.
💪

Your arm becomes stronger

Targeted arm strengthening builds muscle and improves stamina for everyday demands.
✋

You feel more again

Sensory training improves the perception of pressure and position — the basis for gripping safely.
🧠

Your brain learns anew

High-dose repetition creates new neural connections — improvement is possible long after a stroke.
Our equipment & methods

These modern devices and methods are waiting for you

For robot-assisted functional training of the upper limb we invest in specialist technology.

Who is this therapy for?

Does this sound familiar?

Limitations of arm and hand affect almost every everyday activity — from personal care to leisure.

If your arm is weakened, spastic or partly paralysed after a stroke — functional training with mirror therapy and robotics reactivates the neurological connections.

If Parkinson’s makes your hand movements smaller, slower and less precise — focused motor training preserves fine motor control.

If MS, spinal cord injury or another neurological condition affects coordination and strength in arm and hand — we adapt every exercise precisely to your situation.

Frequently asked questions

What you want to know

The key answers at a glance — so you arrive well prepared.

What exactly do you train in functional training?▾
We train the motor and sensory function of the upper limbs — grasping exercises, mobilising the joints, strengthening the hand, arm and shoulder muscles, and perception through sensory input.
What is mirror therapy and why do you use it?▾
Mirror therapy uses the visual illusion of movement to activate neural connections in the brain. It is particularly effective in hemiplegia and spasticity after a stroke.
Does functional training help even with severe spasticity?▾
Yes — we have specific methods for different levels of severity. Gentle mobilisation, stretching and targeted stimulation can have positive effects even in pronounced spasticity.
How quickly do you see first results?▾
That varies from person to person. Many clients report noticeable improvement after just a few weeks. Regularity is decisive — the brain needs repetition.
