Neuro-orthopaedic consultation — medical expertise within the team

Dr Martin Svehlik answers your questions about surgery, orthoses and assistive devices — embedded in our interdisciplinary therapy centre. Badge: Graz · Consultant in neuro-orthopaedics

What are neuro-orthopaedic consultations and how do they help with therapy planning and prevention?
What is a neuro-orthopaedic consultation?

The medical view that brings it all together

Neuro-orthopaedics brings together neurological and orthopaedic expertise — and is essential when questions arise that go beyond therapy: when does surgery make sense? Which orthosis is the right one? Which assistive devices really improve everyday function?

Assoc. Prof. Dr Martin Svehlik PhD is a consultant in neuro-orthopaedics with over 15 years of experience — and part of our interdisciplinary team in Graz. From his daily work he knows the particular needs of patients after stroke and with Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy and spinal cord injury. More than 50 neuro-orthopaedic consultations a year take place here in our therapy centre.

“Together we find the right path — medically sound, individual and without pressure.”
